Treat yourselves to a real Manx holiday on our working 350 acre sheep and cereal farm. Smeale Farm Cottages offer peace and tranquility in the beautiful north of the Isle of Man and enjoy panoramic views across open fields to the hills and sea. Just a mile away are the beach and the 670 acre Ayres National Nature Reserve that stretches for several miles along the northern coast.

Our family have lived at Smeale Farm since 1824 and farmed much of this land back to 1515 according to records contained in the Manorial Roll of that date. At the highest point of the farmland sits a tumulus that contained a Viking ship burial dating from around 900 A.D. and in another field there is the site of an ancient keeill (Chapel) thought to date from the 5th Century. There is a feeling of history and continuity here and we delight in sharing our environment with our guests. We are past winners (2006 and 2014) of the Manx Farm Conservation Challenge “Bronze Chough” Award for excellence in conservation in balance with commercial farming and we are always pleased to show guests around the farm.

Smeale Farm Cottages are surrounded by rolling Manx countrysideWith both of our cottages rated at 4 Stars and very well equipped, you can rest assured that your stay will be comfortable and relaxing in these light and cheerful farm cottages with full double glazing and oil-fired central heating throughout. Now with free WiFi in both cottages.

Prices are all-inclusive (no meters to worry about) and, to ensure that you quickly settle into your holiday home, we provide all your bed linen, towels and tea towels, although we would ask you to provide your own beach towels. Children are very welcome with cot and highchair available free of charge. As we try to keep the cottages allergy free, we are sorry but it is not possible to accommodate pets except for registered assistance dogs in Thie y Ribbeyder.

So step out of the hectic bustle of modern life and recharge your batteries in this special part of our beautiful Island. Wake up to the sight of sheep and lambs in the fields, the ever changing colours and patterns in the corn fields and maybe a hen harrier hunting the hedges.

We have tried to provide all the facilities that we personally would hope to find on holiday and in properties that enjoy wonderful locations. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information and/or would like to make a booking. We can email you a booking form together with conditions of hire or, if you prefer, we can post you a brochure including price list, conditions of hire and booking form. We very much look forward to hearing from you.
